I, DJ MikeQ Currently A New Jersey Resident Started My Love For “Ballroom” Music In October Of 2003 Upon Entering A Local Club Today Still Known As The Globe. After My Very 1st Trip @ The Age Of 17 To The Inner City, Underground LGBT Club… I Got My First Introduction To The Ballroom Scene And Its Music. Seeing The Artistic Dance Known As “Vogue” And The Catchy Beats The “Irregular” Movements Are Executed To, I Immediately Fell In Love With It. Made Famous By Masters At Work “The Ha Dance” A Tune Sampled From The Eddie Murphy Movie “Trading Places” Is Today’s Main Track Played @ Balls For The Vogue Category And ReMixed Numerous Times By Artist And DJ’s.

My Sudden Love For This Music Took Me On A Search To Find The Music Which Led Me The Ballroom Popular Club Once Based In Harlem, NYC, Then Known As “The Clubhouse”. There I Found More Of The Music I Was In Search Of. From There I Began To Sample The Music And Taught Myself Basically To Work The Programs And Beat Machines To Re-Create The Sound I Desperately Wanted To Hear. At First (And When I Listen Back Now) I Wasn’t That Great Because I Can Find Soo Many Flaws In My Earlier Work, But People Liked It! People Started Hearing My Music Because I’d Go And Post It Online On Walk4MeWednesdays.Com Or Some Where. Eventually People Started Buying CD’s Or Calling Me For Productions And I Became Better At It…. In 2004 @ The ClubHouse Is Where I Started Hanging With The DJ’s And Started To Play Around With The CD Mixing Console And Playing Music, I Can Admit I Was VERY Nervous At First, Then In August Of 2005 I Got My First Residency At The Globe Thanx To My Rising Name. THE REST IS HISTORY IN THE MAKING!

Today In 2010 At The Age Of 24, I Am Now Resident DJ @ The Globe As Well As The Clubhouse (Now Club Lyfe) The First Two Clubs I Ever Went To And Has Played @ A Number Of Clubs And Balls In Cities And States Such As New Jersey, New York , Chicago, Philly, Pittsburgh, Miami, FL And Connecticuit I Have Produced Over 20 Ballroom CD’s Under My Independent Label “Qween Beat Productions” Two Of Them Produced For Artist/Commentator “Da Twisted Chanter” Gregg Evisu And One Newly For The Legendary Commentator Selvin Khan. Qween Beat Productions: A Group Of Musically Talented Individuals In The Ballroom Scene Now Includes 6 Leading Members Including DJ MikeQ, Jay R, MC TQ, Miyoko, Gregg Evisu & Kevin J.Z 007. I Have Also Recorded And Produced A CD For MOther Theresa Mizrahi & Mother Mariah revlon As Well As The Legendary Selvin Khan.
